Brahmatal is a lake nestling in the depths of Uttarakhand Himalayas. It is a lake where Lord Brahma is said to have meditated as per mythology. Brahmatal trek is an easy trek to go in winter &offering almost all you can think of a winter trek destination and gaining popularity rapidly in the last couple of years. The trekking route to Brahmatal involves easy during summer and medium to traverse during winter. This is an easy to moderate difficulty level trek and fits people and trekkers with very less experience can also go for it. Apart from the uneven terrain, the trek is filled with beautiful landscapes and sprawling forests and a mesmerizing view of the Himalayas. Reach 12,100 feet approximately covering around 25 KMs with this trek. The trek takes one through beautiful valleys, never-ending ridge lines, sprawling Bugyal, High altitude lakes, majestic peak views and fresh snow on the trail. In winter, the region is covered in snow and offered unparallel Himalayan View.
The Brahmatal Trek is a great winter option & is on the opposite side of the famous Roopkund.T he spectacular views of Himalayan range from the trail is one of the many reasons for doing this trek. Some of the prominent seven thousanders visible are Trishul, Nandaghunti, Chowkhamba, Nilkanth, Kamet, Hathi and Ghoda peaks. Two fairly large lakes, Brahma Tal and Bekhal Tal remain mostly frozen during winters. The best season to explore this trail is either winter or in the springs. During winter weather normally remains clear and panoramic beauty of the surrounding is unmatched. An adequate amount of snow is another reason that this is getting popular in recent years. In Spring the trail is bountiful with Rhododendron blossoms while the last patches of snow start melting.
